He's running. Anyone gonna vote for him??

(If you bring religion into play, for or against, be polite. I'm of the same faith, and I have a right to be respected.)

I like him...so far I like him better than all the other Republicans. I am an Independent and I don't care what religion he is. And, No he didn't screw up Massachusetts. I am a resident. He is a principaled, ethical, morally upright, educated man and a breath of fresh air is needed in Washington. I am hopeful the country will see in him what I do....

If you run a member of the LDS church agaisnt anyone you have to expect the other party will do some rather underhanded things.

For example is says right in the Book of Mormon that there are two churchs the church of the lamb of god and the church of satan.

I think it would be easy to undermine any LDS member presidentil campaign with claims that mormon's are not Christian, Mormon's think we're all Satanic. In addition, it wasn't until 1978 that Mormons allowed black's to hold the priest hood.

I think this could be used agaist him as well.

I find it appalling that this would happen, but it would. Catholic which out number the members of the LDS faith by million are cast in a negative light when ever they run for president, to expect that a member of the LDS church would receive any different treatment is shameful.

That being said, I think he would make an interesting candiate.

I'd have to know more about Mitt.

What has he learned from the state Supreme Court's ruling on gay marriage? Does he know why that Court was wrong? Can he explain exactly what were the mistakes that the Court made?

Does he/did he support George W.'s request for an injunction to stop the re-counts in Florida?

I won't be voting at all unless there is a candidate he knows what judicial activism means, and who knows that conservative Supreme Court Justices have guilty of doing it just like liberals have been guilty of it. I need a candidate who can explain how the U.S. Constitution should be interpreted.

The trouble is, my ideal candidate would bore everyone else to tears.

Romney is a flip-flopper. He panders to what base will give him votes and doesn't have any strong convictions. He says he is pro-life but supports abortion in cases of rape and incest. Not so pro-life and he promised the people of Massachusetts he will respect pro-choice legislation. In 1994, he wrote a letter to Log Cabin Republicans saying he will be more pro-gay rights than Ted Kennedy. Now he says he is against gay marrige and civil unions. As the election for 2008 draws closer he is coming more to the right even meeting with Evangelical leaders such as Falwell. He says he has gone through a conversion on his stances on abortion. This happens coincidentially, near the 2008 presidential election. He prides himself on being a moderate but now he is a right-winger. I don't trust him. It seems he doesn't care about conservatism or moderatism. He just wants to be elected. He is a flip-flopper who seeks fame without having strong convictions. I don't care about his religion but I do care about his opinions on the most current issues and his weak stances.

Well, people want to know who they are voting for. Sadly Romney hasnt had the exposure others have. I would bet anyone $50.00 Mcain gets the nod from his respective party over Romney by a landslide.

N0, not sure why he is suddenly getting so much attention, maybe the east coast has heard of him, but the rest of us across the country haven't. All I heard was that he was a jerk in Massachussetts and not well liked after he got in office.

I consider myself a liberal, but I think Romney is the best candidate so far. I don't agree with his stances on some social issues, but with a democratic Congress and House, he won't have any influence on changing them anyway. But what he did for the budget, education, and healthcare in Mass. was amazing.

Everyone says he is Cool!!!!
But, he's got baggage. Like the phony Democrat Politicians, he says he's against Abortion; but Votes For It. "Because it's what the people want".
That's exactly what the Hypocrite Democrats say.
(But, I would vote for him over any Democrat, of course.)

Romney, being a former Governor, would stand a good chance. I would give him serious consideration. Religion is not a factor, as long as he is religious.
