It seems as the gap between the have's and have nots grows wider and wider, eventually the poor will revolt. Historically, that has always been the case. In the case of France or Russia, royalty was executed and in the case of Germany, men like Hitler rose to power during such terrible times. Is corporate greed slowly pushing America in this direction?

No. We do not have nearly as big a gap as what stood during the depression.

The day will come, make no mistake! It won't be a traditional revolution as was in the past. Empires historically have lasted for around 400 years. In the case of the USA, I'm afraid it has peaked early. Not to mention an advance in media. Which can benefit both sides. So expect something in your lifetime.

Alot of people in America have woken up after 9/11 and New Orleans. Excuse me for stating the obvious. I'm afraid at this point NOT ENOUGH people have taken the red pill though!

I live in hope that more Americans will take it upon themselves to travel outside the country and see the difference, but I have been known to be a tiny bit too optimistic.

92% of Americans DO NOT own passports. This explains the main problem for me.

The question is: Where to start?

We want to fine tune our country not destroy it, and we have the means to do this in November. During the past century we have seen the swing from robber barons to union strangleholds, and now, back again to the overpaid board room cronies with their excessive golden parachutes and total disregard even of their own shareholders. Its not blood in the streets, but it will be a drastic change in the attitude of our legislators and the tilt toward big business will be checked and some accountability will be demanded. Not by guns, but by laws, that's the way we do it.

As many already said, America is now too apathetic to care. Give them their MTV and reality shows and they will remain distracted, just as Rome was with their gladiator games.

I have been waiting for a revolution. A small one took place last election. I truely hope it changes things.

We fought a revolution over "taxation without representation" (ostensibly), but now we have a government that is completely lacking in representation for their constituents. War, taxes, unpopular policies, big business tax breaks, etc etc. The US goverment now only represents the rich and large coorporations.

The poor will continue to be pushed down until they have no choice but to resort to violence. And the poor vastly outnumber the rich...

That it happened in those nations does not guarantee the US following suit. You are talking revolts against kings, in the case of France and Russia. The US has no foundations in that.
The danger of a revolution happeningis real, but I think it will be of a more leftist socialist bent. Communism(socialism if you like) is spreading like the cancer that it is in south America. I forsee a feeble attempt at spreading it here again. A case of have vs. have nots is essentially communistic in nature, and America just don't swng that way.

A leftist armed insurrection? The undergound movement would be led by generals like Phil Donahue,Howard Dean and Alan Alda. The foot soldiers would be like Barney Fife and Radar O'Reilly. I don't think Ft Hood will be getting nervous any time soon...

There will be a revolution, but not in the way you might think. Eventually sin will incorporate more and more of society and the reaction will be taken against those who oppose such actions. The first thing Hitler got rid of was God and guns. The apathy of the country allowed him to get more power and his charm and secret police got the rest. We have already gotten rid of God, many want to get rid of guns, and were pretty apathetic.

No. As much as I would like to see things change (not necessarily though a revolution), the average American doesn't care enough to get up and force a change through violence.

there is a purpose to keeping black/white and lib/con issues going, stirring it up every so often. to keep us from thinking about revolution. the rich like anything that distracts the common man from them.

as long as we fight among ourselves, they are safe.
