You borrow a gun off a friend. He wants it back. You know he is going to kill someone when he gets the gun. Do you give him the gun knowing what he plans to do with it. Or do you keep it from him and take the risk of getting felony charges of theft.

You need to go to the police with the gun and your thinking. Better to possibly save a person't life, even if it means losing a friend. You may even be saving your friend's life too.

This is a "guns don't kill people--people kill people" problem. Turn in the gun to the police along with the name of the person who is intent on commiting a murder. If you don't give the gun back to him, he will just get one from somewhere else. You could be saving a life by being proactive in notifying the authorities.

You keep the gun and when the friend goes to report you for theft, you tell the police what he's planning to do with the gun.

Take the gun to the police they will take care of the gun, and it is off the street. If you don't want them to know it is you giving them the gun do it anonymously. In the long run you will be getting rid of something that can harm another human being.

Give the gun to a relative of the friend, and let that person know why you don't want the friend to have it. It's either that, or turn it over to the police and tell the friend where he can pick it up.

If you know he is going to kill somebody then of course you don't give it to him - dodo!

Since it's not your gun and you don't have a licence to hold it and you don't want to incur charges of theft (i.e. keeping his property unlawfully) then the obvious answer would be to hand it in to the police.

If you don't want to involve or incriminate your friend then simply spin some yarn about having found it... but knowing his intentions I think you should be morally bound to tell the police of your suspicions re his actions and let them worry about it.

Who knows, the life you save could be your own.

Got it!

Give back the gun after notifying the authorities.Or you could destroy the gun and use the art of denial. Good luck.

I would talk to him about why it is he wants to kill them and try to convince him not to, then i would keep the gun until he's gotten over it and no longer wishes to kill the person.

Wow--I'd say keep it away until your friend's anger subsides-then he will have time to think about what he is planning on doing.Hopefully he won't let his anger get the best of him-but for now you should keep it safe from him --

if you seriously , for sure, give it to the cops and tell them what you feel will happen it it is returned to your friend, or keep it and plead you case at court, in the meantime maybe the cops will hold it for evidence or something.
