You will need a solid background in science, in particurlar biology and chemistry, to do well on your MCATs (like SAT's to get into med school). Suggest a major in biology, specializing in biochemistry.
Most major universities have a "pre-med" track and may even give you access to advisors who will keep this in mind for you. But you don't have to be pre-med to get into medical school, and don't think that you will get into medical school just becasue you are pre-med.
Contact some medical schools, especially if you have some idea as to what specific medical schools you are interested. Ask them what they are looking for in their applicant screening process. Keep in mind that many medical schools accept one student per one hundred applications - to give yourself an edge, find out what the medical school is looking for.
And although you think you want to by a gynocologist, keep an open mind. You don't have to go in to medical school knowing what kind of doctor you want to be, and many medical students change their minds several times. Knowing that you want to be a doctor is hard enough - focus on getting the grades and working on what the medical schools are looking for in applicants.

You can pretty much major in what ever you want to as an undergrad, so long as you take certain courses required for acceptance into med school. Most colleges/universities have a pre-med adviser who helps pre-med students plan out their courses. But many schools are doing away with specific pre-med majors, as med schools are looking for more well-rounded students. So if you like biology a lot, go ahead and major in biology, but you certainly don't have to.

I'd pick a science major. Anything in the bio or chem field tends to be popular with most bio students. I prefer bio over chem, but that's just because I think bio is more interesting. You tend to want to pick a science major because it's easier to get into the required science courses if you are a science major. Plus, you want a very strong grounding in science before getting into med school. While you don't have to be a science major to get into med school, the practical matter at most colleges now is that it makes your life easier.
Getting good grades in those courses is another matter entirely.

Your university will outline a degree plan for you . You need to meet with one of the couselors/advisors there and tell them of your goal. I hope you love the sciences and have excellent study habits. The road to a medical career will leave you little time for anything but study, study, and more study. Of course, the rewards will be enormous, so never abandon your dream.

Biology certainly should be your major. But increasingly medical schools are stressing that a doctor is not an auto mechanic who works on people; there is more to it than the merely technical. Consider a minor in women's studies or at least taking courses in women's literature, sociology of gender and such like.
Good luck.

Ok for starters, a pap smear does not turn out virginity. It's a experiment to be certain your cervical tissue is traditional, and there aren't any indicators of illnesses like melanoma. So, I'm now not definite what your dad is considering with that. Secondly, you are a school graduate, which makes you an grownup that is a minimum of on your 20's (except you are a youngster prodigy, which if that is the case, well for you) and your dad, despite the fact that he is your dad, has no truly proper to grasp any of your "feminine reproductive" trade. You are now not a youngster that demands a mum or dad for that variety of factor. Because you're an grownup, there may be general practitioner/sufferer confidentiality, and your general practitioner can not inform your father what the outcome of the experiment are. So, to ensure that your dad to grasp, you might must inform him, due to the fact that the general practitioner may not and cannot. The general practitioner can inform you probably have been sexually energetic if there are transparent indicators of it, and they are able to inform in case your hymen is ruptured, they recognise the ends and outs of that aspect of your anatomy due to the fact that it is their task. Some ladies rupture their hymen as a result of physical activities early on, others do not rupture theirs till a few variety of sexual undertaking. So, it isn't particularly correct to mention all ladies with out hymens don't seem to be virgins. The general practitioner is aware of this. While the general practitioner may not be competent to inform precisely what ruptured your hymen, she will likely be competent to peer if it is now not reward while she appears at you. Your dad demands to loosen up. You're an grownup. If you desire the general practitioner to motive with him, inform her your predicament, and in the event you supply her permission she will speak to him, and aid again you up, so he does not cross nuts. Just be sincere together with her, inform her the reality, and she is going to paintings with you on it, and she is going to arise with a solution to be sincere in your dad with out him going nuts. She can inform him it is most likely you misplaced your hymen as a result of physical activities due to the fact that it is ordinary, due to the fact that except you've got semen reward, or a few variety of signal of sex, she cannot particularly turn out in any other case.
