I took birth control pill for about 5 years until I stopped in Dec when my period started. I had unprotected sex the following week of period and the week after (only twice) and today I found out that I'm 5 weeks pregnant. So it took me only a week. since we didn't plan it, it was a big surprise. However, my friend wanted to get pregnant so stopped taking her pill and she is having a hard time conceive and her dr told her that it might take about 3 months.
So I guess it all depends on a person. If you are ttc good luck!

My sister was on birthcontrol pills for 5 years and her Dr switched her to another brand in that on week of switching over she got pregnant. It depends on each person. I would put into account your age and how strong the pills were. If after a year I would consult a OBGYN that handles infertility

Depends on which type of pill it is. I took Ortho for 9 years, stopped, and got pregnant the next month. Good Luck!

yes it can, i know of a number of women who took birth control pills for a more than 8 months and they can no longer have kids. I have also researched it but I don't remember the website that I saw it on.

after being on the pill for a number of years it can take a couple of months to get out of your system. It takes the average couple about 8 months to get pregnant after going off the pill.
