I am not a Raider fan, nor have I ever really been one; but a a die-hard football fan, I am pained to watch how utterly pathetic, bad, and awful the Radiers have been the past couple of seasons. Being a 49er fan, I know things are rough when times are bad but at least the 49ers have shown improvement and signs of life. So I am curious (and hopeful) that the Raiders can be fixed. So, RAIDER NATION, please list out step by step exactly what should be done to return the Raiders to prominence. What can do done to restore the Silver & Black's "Commitment to Excellence?" Thank you for your time and I look forward to your answers.
P.S. - Detroit Lions fans, you auys aren't very far behind.

1. Get Al Davis out of the picture and a new owner.
2. Hire a GOOD coach, not someone like Art Shell. They need a proven winner who has other options than this job, but is dedicated to the Raiders.
3. Trade Randy Moss away for some draft picks. Same with Jerry Porter. And Lamont Jordan.
4. Draft JaMarcus Russel with the 1st pick.
5. Draft a good running back in the 2nd or 3rd round to compete with Justin Fargas for the starting job. Also try drafting a good O Lineman.
6. Cut some guys to free up the salary cap and sign a few decent O Lineman.
Win at least 7 games the next season and they'll be on their way.

Nothing will change until Uncle Al passes. He's out of touch and with the first pick in the draft he'll do do something like, trade it and get another offensive linemen. Gallery is a bust but the defense is not the worst. So they'll need to get some offensive fire power or at least someone to protect the QB.
The coach is a different story. No one with real leadership skills will want the job. Art was one of the only people that would put up with Uncle Al's Machiavellian ways. Al can't even sell a stake in the team's ownership, for cryin out loud.
I've been a Raider fan since 1967 and will be til the day I die. I ain't gonna front these past few years have been the toughest but, I still go up to Oaktown twice a year and will til they move somewhere else.
Stayin loyal to the Raider Nation

For me it goes... 1. Those big bad bow ties. Chevy. That is all I own now and they also have the most manufactures championships. Plus that is all I own. Have 1965 Chevelle, 1977 Long Bed Sliverado, and 1980 Step side, and a 07 Tahoe. 2. Pontiac, yes I know they are no longer in NASCAR. but I am a huge fan of the Fire Bird and Trans Am. 3. Ford those new Mustangs look really sharp, love it that they are racing in the Nationwide series. Hopefully they will start racing them in the Cup soon! 4. Dodge again gotta love those new Challengers, don't really care to much for the new Chargers they have 4 doors! In my opinion Chargers should only have 2. 5. Jaguar, yes I kow they only raced once back in the fifties. 6. And coming in at a not so surprising last place would be the sign that NASCAR might be heading down the drain. Toyo, opps I mean Toy, dang that's not right either Toyota. Again this is just my opinion but Toyota goes against every thing NASCAR stands for.

Lets see, it's going to take quite of bit to help the raiders. I am a raider fan through and through and hate to see this happening but one of my big things is you can't switch coaches every year or two you have to let them get in there and earn respect and kick their as*** when they need it. Bill Cowher or Parcells for i.e. second the owner just like Jerry Jones are old and control freaks so you have to have a coach and players that will be patient but stand their ground to these rich old men.
Last year they made a horrible pick in the drafts for Brooks this year they have it made A.D. for OK and even Brady Quinn or Jemarcus, etc. lets hope they do something with their picks and not blow it again. It's going to take more than just good football players or player to make this team work.
Al Davis needs to shutup and sit down and enjoy the games while he still can. But what do i know I'm just one of the little people.

not one good answer yet 1 hire a gm and give him power 2 hire a good offensive cordinator norv turner 3 hire mike martz as head coach 4 the defense is fine great defensive cordinator already in place the mistake would be to make him head coach 5 trade randy moss for a draft pick and youth 6 trade 28 year old lamont jordan for a draft pick and youth 7 yes draft brady quinn i don't personally care for him but a solid corner stone for years to come under martz 8 free agency get a offensive line 9 hire mike singeltary for lb's coach and special teams 10 be patient 3 coaches in three years is not ever gonna help your offense 11 it's gonna take time your in the afc playoffs are tough to get into rome wasn't built in a day get smart talented players and coach them and please al davis stop your one year plan get key leaders veterns come on moss, sapp work your salary cap take a page from the eagles and patriots gms build a franchise not a team and you'll be the mad scientist again al P.S. I am a eagles fan and most importantly thier is no salary cap on coaches

They first have to get rid of Al Davis, then get that qb from lsu, then get some offensive linemen who can block for him, a coach that will launch the ball down the field and have dynamic plays, someone also who can unite the team to believe that the Raiders are actually a team to be proud of. I personally think the black and silver colors and all the hoodlums who think its cool to wear their colors or jackets hurt the team and give them a bad presence of who they are. Raiders won't win again for another 5 years, maybe no playoffs for 7 or 8 more years.

I am not a Raider fan but would advise the Raiders to get rid of Al Davis, find a real coach not someone from the stone age, get a decent QB, OL, RB, WR and defense. Practice, practice, and practice. Pray to the football gods and hope you win maybe four games next year.

i say,
follow the Philly Eagles:-D
but my advice...dont take Brady Quinn, he is too cute. Take Jamarcus Russell.
I think if Brady should be taken to a sucky team, atleast make it closer to home(Lions)
--but seriously
--get a new QB
