Yes and no. I've seen women get overly pressed about valentines day. They were the kind of girl where Valentines was such a big deal. But overall, its not that serious. Especially if in your culture you celebrate something similar, just on a different day.

Well, more fool her for not stringing you along and getting two valentines days out of it.

If you want to make romantic gestures why should you be dictated by mass marketing as to when you should be romantic.

At least you won't forget when it is - will you?

you are right...Americans (I am one) have made it into a 'Hallmark holiday.' i make a point to send my wife flowers at work or other romantic ideas on any OTHER night in addition to Valentine's Day...romance shouldn't last just one day...

thats not too bad. my ex didnt remember when valentines was. or my birthday (which is the 16th so it shouldnt be THAT hard) and we were dating 5 years!!!

so no, i dont think its cause for a fight. i say just surprise her with actually remembering and she's TOTALLY fall for ya
