i would say the (in no particular order)
1)car= we cant live without it, the wheel was one thing but the care takes it to another level
2)laptop= portable and compact, perfect! (shame about battery life)
3) ipod= upto 80 gb of music....enough said!
4)AC/DC adapter= almost any power supply uses this sort of adapter....an amazing invention.
5) light bulb- who's afraid of the dark?
6) mobile phones- brill
7) tv- if used for the right reasons- then a great invention
8)the pen- no pen no shakespeare- no romeo or ruliet
9)tea- coz im drinking it now!
10) penicillin- saved so many lives
a few of them are a bit silly, but can you think of better ones?

my best ten are
the telephone, love to chat
the washing machine, easier than the washboard
radio, came long before TV, and more entertaining
fridge and freezers. no more buying daily,ideal if your at work
the light bulb, less chance of an accident with candles
my hair straighteners.my fuzzy hair is now well in order
the retractable dog leash. dog likes it too
duvets. lighter than blankets and very warm
this good old computer,
and lastly my mate marmite, i love the stuff

Top of my list would be the washing machine. Before they were invented people, mostly women, spent hours of backbreaking labour washing clothes by hand. If I had the choice of only one machine in my house, it would be this.
Other great inventions: disposable surgical tools - e.g. scalpels, syringes, latex gloves. These have had an amazing impact on reducing transmitted infections in hospitals.
The refigerator - amazing impact on nutrition.
