Simplify -9/6?

My answer would be -3/2. But my calculator says -1/2. Which one is it?

I like 1.5 that is simple. but then I see little need for fractions I'm a decimal girl.

9/6 is 1 and 1/2
Divide 9 by 6 and you get one and three sixths which can then be reduced to one half.
