hehe i got yelled at by my daughters pediatrician at her well child check up for giving to much milk. babies should only get 21-24Oz's of milk a day more then that can cause iron deficiency's and oddly enough cause them to be slow learners i was giving my daughter 5 8oz bottles a day so needless to say now she only gets 2-3 8oz bottles when she is ready for bed or during the day. My daughter is 14 months old and only gets a bottle to go to sleep which is twice a day. Go to wal-mart and get a Nuby sippy cup it comes with 3 types of tops , a nipple, a straw (doesn't leak so don't worry) , and a normal sippy cup top. These Nuby sippy cups are for first time users so they don't have any handles and resemble a bottle. We started our daughter on the straw top since it kind looks like a nipple then 2 months later to the sippy cup top.

It is better to give her milk in a glass rather than a bottle. That way she won't drink as much from the bottle I don't think 32oz's is alot for an 18 month old, my son is 18 months and he has atleast 3-4 8oz glass of milk. I was told though that after they turn 2 years old that going down to 2% or 1% is better for them. But I wouldn't worry unless your doc says too. You can always call and ask them what they think...

Start by taking a bottle away during lunchtime and offering a sippy cup, juice box, or regular cup along with her meal. As she gets used to taking in her liquids through other means than a bottle it would be safe to take away another, such as morning or supper. I do not believe in just taking the bottle away and letting the baby deal with it as others have suggested. This can result in a severly dehydrated child. It is best done gradually. Honestly, there's no harm in letting your child have a bottle at this age. My 18 month old son still takes one at night to help him sleep.

Just take her bottle away and give her a sippy cup. thats the easiest thing to do. The longer you take the ween her the harder it is.
Generally a toddler-preschool child shouldnt drink more than 2-3 cups of milk a day.

Goodness, thats a lot of liquid?! Does she drink water? Try giving only water or half (all natural) juice and half water in the bottles only and offering milk in a cup...supervised unless you want to use a sippy cup. This will wean her from the bottle.

Try using the Nuby cup. They have a soft spout like a bottle and its an easier transition for them. My youngest would only take the Munchkin sippy cups with the straw. They kind of look like the link below except they have big handles. They are made for 9 months and up. I got mine at Target but can't find them on the website.

my children drank almost a gallon of milk a day. as long as she is eating other food, she should be fine, if you want to take the bottle from her just do it, the more they have it the more they want it.
