"If the world were a logical place, men would ride side saddle." There's lots of things we do that don't make sense. I would agree this is one of them.

I can't believe all of the different answers listed. 2000 years ago skirts and robes were a men's garment. Pants were not worn by either men nor women because they bring attention to the crotch area causing lustful thoughts which is all sin. Even if men wore pants they would wear an apron or skirt over the pants to cover up the crotch. Over the years society perverted things by wearing pants only and skipped the skirts and aprons so that they could see people's crotch area and lust after each other. Now today, people think that the norm is pants for men and skirts for women and most men are so convinced of this lie that they don't feel comfortable wearing skirts at all. They are perverted in their thinking on what is right and what is not. But the bottom line is that in the beginning skirts and robes were men's garments, but showing the form of both men and women by the wearing of pants only was sinful. Today few can accept this truth.

Every summer I ask myself the same question (usually before I've seen my first mosquito of the season). The fashion industry has come up with sillier things so I live in hope. Unfortunately I'm not sure most men would cope too well with walking past congregations of women on windy days.

Anatomically speaking, yes, but a long time ago when people were first discovering clothes besides leapord skins, men were more active. They were the hunters, and so needed more flexibility, something you don't get in even loose skirts. So men wore pants to be able to hunt well while keeping all the important bits covered. Women wore skirts because they saved fabric while they didn't need so much flexibility.

I don't feel the family Jewels would appreciate it.
Especially in the winter with the 20 & 30 below weather and all.
The women look the most sexy and beautiful in skirts. So just leave the skirts to them.
Frankly, I rather see women in skirts anyway.

Quite seriously, if one wears boxer shorts in the hot weather, one needs to use baby powder to keep ones anatomy from sticking to ones leg, otherwise one has to resort to tugging which is highly undesirable in polite company. That is why jeans will remain part of male fashions for many years to come.

The Scots and the Maasai got it right! Moran(ically) and Brave heartedly speaking.
Skirts are a convenience when it comes to "squarting" in the bushes rather morphologically speaking!

Technically men could wear skirts.... cuz they show off theie legs wearing shorts JUST as much as they would if they were wearing a skirt yeah??
hahaha! but this question is just wrong. Men should not be wearing skrits and if ya do thats sad. Well maybe if you got gender issues.
