Yours is not a valid question. It assumes someone or some group called "the Worlds" dominates American politicians. Every politician has his own reason for being in politics. None are "dominated" by any group outside the US.

I think you mean snubbing the UN, right? Didn't we already do that?
Isn't the fact that we acted on our own, for the most part, without UN approval on Iraq a signal?
