Snot is the natural liquid called mucus that all bodies produce to protect and line the airways, and act as lubrication in other bodily functions.

Nasal mucus is present to keep the nasal passages from drying out and to act as a sponge to catch little air born particals and to catch and trap bacteria and viral agents. its also used to keep the lungs and air ways clean, thats why when we get a cold or our allergies are irritated we get a runny nose, in an effort to cleanse the air ways of the virus or irritants.
