If you wish to become a Jew, the only option is a kosher (aka orthodox) conversion. It is a long process of intense study and learning how to live a Jewish Torah lifestyle.

But you should understand, it doesn't matter if someone is a Jew or Gentile - all have access to God.

The Torah outlines 7 universal laws (sheva mitzvot b'nei Noach) known as the Noahide covenant for all mankind to follow. There are communities of Noahides (non-Jews) who realize the truth of the Torah and follow the Noahide Covenant.

I am Roman Catholic and I have never converted from one set of beliefs to another. I have had many spiritual conversions and I know many people who have converted from one religion to another. Before you make this huge decision you must be sure that your decision is based on more than emotional feeling. It should be based on logic and fact. It is important to base any decision upon logic. Study all of the options in detail. Learn as much of the full story as you can. Pray a great deal. Then make your decision
If you base your decision on emotions then it will not last. Emotions change. They are fleeting. After all, emotions are, scientifically speaking, chemical reactions in the human brain caused by a change or lack of change in circumstance. The conversion process may be emotionally straining, or it may not be. But that should not be a key factor in such an important decision. I will pray for you. Peace and God bless.

if you live in new york, there are black synagogues (authentic ones). there are also some in Chicago and Philadelphia, i believe. However, has you considered Islam? it's not what you see on TV, at all. It's monotheistic, and very modest at well. it is more accepting of all peoples than the Jewish faith is, so you might feel more welcome. (at least in the US, I've never met a non asheknasi Jewish person)

good luck
