How about you both grow up and realize that where you come from doesn't make you better or worse than anyone else?

NOPE! She's not better than you. You both may have some really great qualities but neither one of you is better than the other especially when it comes to the state you live in or are from. I personally have a lot against California like the earth quakes high crime and all of the smog and the most things I have against Alabama is I'm not there oh and the flood thing in N.O.
It's been my experience that so many people from Calif. are in the same frame of mind as your friend. They can't do so many things other states can do and the one major thing they have going for them is their Governor.

Ummm for some reason I get that deep down inside you are a bit jealous of her. Just don't pay any mind to it, if she really thinks she's better than you.. honestly.. she is not a good person because NO ONE is better than ANY ONE!!!!! And that is just a FACT! Maybe some people are better at doing stuff, but only because they studied or have experience with doing it and in that case ANY ONE can do if they have the same motivation and dedication with learning what the other has learned. So my point is, you know that she is not better than you.. so don't make such a big deal out of it. Sure it gets you upset... but do not pay any mind to it, because reality is.. she is NOT better than you.
Good Luck!

Your friend may have all of these belongings... but there is one thing that i doubt that she DOES have, which is more powerful than any of her riches. It is love. I doubt a rich-stuckup girl like that has people that truly care about her. Love just "knocks out" all of her material posessions. She thinks that her money will buy her happiness, but you should show there that there is another thing coming. you should say to her,
hey [friends name,}
i like you alot, and i hope that saying this will not jeapordize our friendship, but you tend to talk about your riches a lot, and i would really appreciate it if you would not to it so much becuase it makes me feel really _______ <--- state ur feeling (unhapy, uncomfortable) ...

She is very wrong. It doesn't matter what state you are from to determine if you are cool or not. Don't let it bother you and when she is bragging about all of this stuff just ignore it and change the subject, she will soon get the hint that you don't want to listen to her.

humm, material stuff does not make one better than another. It's what's inside. You are worried of not hurting her feelings but she is hurting yours. I think you should tell her straight up that when she insinuates things like "I'm better than you" it bothers you and hurts your feelings. If she's a true friend she'll stop.

No, she isn't better than you she just thinks she is. Do YOU think she is better than you? And ask yourself is SHE happy with all those things. Maybe she thinks those things are compensating for what she is lacking. Confidence and self-esteem.

Make new friends then. There's no reason for you to try to change someone, just make friends with other people who aren't so irritatingly insecure.
