Are you using Windows XP? If so, you can log on to your account with a simple hack. Please read the following article:
"How to Break Into a Password Protected Windows XP" -- wikihow.com (http://www.wikihow.com/Break-Into-a-Password-Protected-Windows-XP)
I am assuming you do not have any nefarious motives. By the way, please do not search for words like"password" or "password crackers." Why? There are a lot of bad people out there who buy ads on Google and other search engines. When you run a search on Google, their ads appear as sponsors links. These links lead to websites which download viruses, Trojan Horses and other nasty things. For example, if you run a search for "free screensaver" on Google, 9 out of 10 results lead to malicious websites. You won't know anything is wrong until they infest your computer. Terms like password, free ringtones, free music and key crackers are to be avoided.

Well, this is a real pickle you are in. You see, nobody here can be sure you are really locked out due to an honest mistake or if you are attempting to learn how to crack into a password protected system or folder. We are not suppose to give any information here which is against the law, and helping or aiding in breaking passwords is against the law. It is against the Community Guidelines AND could get whomever helped you kicked off of this site, lose our e-mail account and lose access to all Yahoo! services, and benifits. Not much fun in that now is there?
You are probably exactly who you claim to be, the owner of the computer OR at the very least the account holder on the computer. If you have somebody who shares the computer and that person has an administrator account, then that person can go into that account and fix this for you. There are programs available online which helped people recover from lost or forgotten passwords, but I don't remember them off the top of my head. Do a Google search for help in recovering from a lost password, or forgotten or misconfigured one, and results will come up to assist you. Now, these are not easy to use, so you may have to resort to taking your system to a repair shop to have a technician fix this for you.
I wish you much success in fixing your password problem, and a good day too.

If you had attempted to change your password and you put in the original and then the new one twice and the NEW passwords didn't match, windows WILL NOT change the password.
you are up against 1 of 2 situations:
If you changed your password because the old password was going to expire, you are dealing with an expired account and ONLY and Administrator or Administrator equivilent can reset said password
The other option is that you never changed your password because you didn't type in the new password the SAME in both boxes, so try your old password.

There are password breakers. Just go to Google and type in something like "password finder" or "password cracker" and you might get something that will work for you.
