Or do they at least relate to what has been happening in your life recently? I mean my life has been a little in the downs but this dream i had last night was just...... tragic. I don't even want to talk about what happened in it, but could you tell me if dreams always have some meaning, or are they just usually random thoughts that your subconcious sends you while you're sleeping? If you could explain a little about what dreams are or why we have them that would be great too. thanx!!

Most dreams are just what you said - everything that's happened recently, plus things that are on your mind, even things you see in the street or on tv, get mixed together as your mind tries to make sense of it all. its like your mind carries on once your body is asleep. Sometimes you can work things out in a dream, sometimes they are so confusing they dont make any sense. sometimes you 'rehearse' your fears through your dreams.
I dont know why we have them exactly but research shows you get really messed up if you are deprived of dream sleep. I wouldnt worry about a dream having too much meaning unless its a recurrent dream.

I am by no means an expert, but I wanted to express my opinion.

I don't think that dreams always have meaning behind them. I do believe the most of the time, probably, dreams are just random thoughts that have absolutely no significance. However, there are times when I think dreams might have a significance. They could be clues into your subconscious, if nothing else.

I KNOW I have lots of dreams that were triggered by events throughout the day. For instance, maybe you talked about airplanes, and then dream of one. For me it is usually something I didn't even remember, but when I wake up and remember my dream, I'm like, "Oh, I bet I dreamt about that because so & so mentioned that yesterday."

So, how do you know the difference? I don't have any idea. For me, some dreams are just plain dumb, so I figure that it means nothing. But once in a while I have a dream that really gets to me and sticks with me all day, and I sit and try to analyze it and wonder what it means.

Hope that helps!

P.S. I don't think that's true about dreams being important if you remember them...at least I hope not...I remember at least one or more of my dreams EVERY NIGHT!!

Sounds like you may feel like you are sacrificing yourself for others. And it does not have to be physical. You could feel like you are putting your song writing and story telling on hold to help others. On the flip side, death does often mean birth or new beginnings. The ghosts sound like something you have come to expect. When you expect to have a certain dream, often it will re occur. Ghosts generally represent repressed thoughts and feelings. You may be being thanked because you are allowing this thoughts or feelings to have their say for a while in your dreams. Next time, try to see if they will tell you what they want. Getting stuck writing a story is a frustration dream. You are basically writing your own story. You are at a point that you need to make a decision about which direction to take in your life.

Yes. If you can remember a dream then it means something. But they are very rarely literal. And a lot of the time things that you think would mean something bad, like rain for example really means something good. Write down the dream you had, to help you see it better. Then try this website dreammoods.com But remember it is up to you to decide what it really means and dream dictionary's are not always right. Good luck!

You had bad dream because subconsciously you feel bad. You don't want to talk aboutt it and that is fine. However, very often, when you talk abou it and understand the meaning of the dream, then you will know why you have certain dream. Reality always comes before dream.

Dreams are from subconscious mind, triggered by daily event, actual experience, and media effects as well.

Some dreams can be your sub conscience telling or warning you, but most dreams are just our brains processing what we saw on the news that day or what happened at work. Its just your bodies way of working through the stresses and casualties of the day in a way it can understand.

Always, or never. One or the other. I lean towards "dreams have no meaning."
