My husband has not seen his step daughter, but we need a good reason to have social services intervene and pay a visit? He's already petitioning to go back to court, but what can we do personally to get the mother's attention? We want to make sure my step daughters ok, but court takes forever, any ideas on what to do in the meantime?

I have a similar situation. You will have to go through the court system. The police and child protective services will do little good. Unless the child is being abused(and it can be proven) they will do nothing! Even if the child is not being cared for properly. Go get a darn good lawyer and find out what options you have. If the child is a step child you guys may not have any rights to the child. If your husband pays any kind of support to the child then he has rights and a lawyer can give you options. Good Luck!

I don't understand. Do you have any reason to believe that this child is in harms way? My guess is no, because you state "we need a GOOD reason to have social services intervene and pay a visit". Why do people use social services for their own agenda????? For goodness sakes people, they are busy doing their job trying to care for kids that are actually being hurt and abused, not settling scores with your family members!

You can check out, and a few courts may have understanding packets to be had. However, such a lot state limit court docket employees from giving authorized recommendation and figuring it out your self can generally be very disturbing. You might be a lot higher off consulting an legal professional.

This may sound crazy but, here in Arkansas, you can call a cop and they will go check. You can call child services and explain what is going on and that you just want her checked on.
