I asked a question pertaining to dealing with rude in-laws and was told to get a divorce! Luckily I am not a gullible schmuck who is going to follow EVERY word of advice given to me, but it makes me wonder is this area filled with pro-divorce/anti-marriage people or is it just filled with trolls?

I know just what you mean. My answers don't contain the "get a divorce" speech. Unfortunately its the world we live in, if it doesn't work out, move on to the next one mentality, sad isn't it. Grass is always greener, but what they forget is, its still grass, with the same problems over there that they didn't face before. You can't keep moving on hoping things will be better with the next person, sooner or later your own imperfections will catch up with you and you will have to deal with yourself. If people would learn to get along with one another.

I think the other person hit the nail on the head.. must just want points.. but I have noticed the advice people give on other questions.. they are very rude at times and insulting to the person. I really think a lot of people in our society just don't cherish the bond of marriage and have never been in that type of commitment where your every decision can not lead to divorce... Good for you.. happy to hear you are trying to get advice and not trying to leave your husband!

The sad thing for these people is that they probably would jump to divorce. I will go look at your other question and see if I can come up with an answer that will actually help.

the reason why people are so quick to jump to divorce is because most people go from the 'meeting' phase of the relationship straight to the 'marriage' relationship without taking the necessary time to get to know one another. and if your inlaws are being rude then you need to either stand up to them or cut them out of your life. just because they are family doesn't mean that they are friends nor does it give them a right to treat you like dirt.

We have turned into an insatiable race of bastards who's only concern is for self gratification.I really think we have come to believe that if we get married and it doesn't work you just get a divorce and leave and to hell with it.There is no longevity,no commitment, and no soul.I love my wife with all of my heart.Problems are not the issue.Every couple has them. You have to enjoy life together.

I've wondered the same thing since being on here!! I think our society is becoming obsessed with convenience and perfection. If we don't have a perfect marriage or relationship in every aspect we just throw it away or try to exchange it for a new one. Disgusting!! Have we lost our backbones? Are we so shallow that we can't handle the bad that comes with the good? I wonder.

People are lazy and find divorce and easy way of of everything. I am divorced, and remarried. I can tell you....it's not as easy as they think. It's terrible, and honestly, it almost killed me. epression, alcohol to numb the rejection, the idea that forever after didn't exist. I hit rock bottom. Divorce is not easy, and it isn't an easy answer. The ones who think it is are naive and obviously haven't gone through it, or had someone close to them go through it.

Probably a little of both on here, As for the in laws, I think your best bet would be to talk to them about their rudeness, if you havent already done so. Beyond that, you may want to consider getting a room nearby when they are in town.

If you do not like the answers than maybe you need to go somewhere else to bic%^!! I read some of your answers and not all of them stated to get a divorce...there were other suggestions given!! So, if you are going to put us down for helping you out than maybe you do not to ask anymore questions. And , complain to your in-laws that you so openly b*&^%ed about!!!
