I have a BBA, MPA and am a PhD candidate in Education. I have tried everything to get a teaching positionand have had no luck. The problem is that I have no previous experience. I don't know what to do anymore and am about to give up the quest. I love being around children. I have two of my own and 23 nephew and nieces. I was raised in a low-income neighborhood and was lucky to have been raised in a great family and guided the right way. Many youth do not have this opportunity and I would like to teach but mentor as well. I am not trying to change the world but sometimes you can shift some of the interim affects the take place within society. If you have a connection or know how I can get an opportunity please help me. All I want is a chance, I will do the rest.

Volunteer. It looks great on a resume and it gets your name and face out there.

First, I cannot imagine there are no teaching jobs in inner-city schools. Sometimes colleges with education departments have an office which helps with job finding, and they may have lists of teaching openings in your state.
