We just booked our annual Disney vacation for February 11-17. I thought that it was a less crowded time to visit. Now I'm not so sure.
Has anyone been during this time? Can you tell me what to expect?

I don't think you have anything to worry about. According to the Walt Disney World website just prior to Presidents' week in February is a time of lowest attendance, therefore it should be less crowded.

* Yes, it is true that the attendance of Walt Disney World continues to steadily grow every year. And it's getting harder and harder to get reservations at any of the Resorts during any time of the year. I had to book my reservations for my next trip as soon as I got back from Walt Disney World in August in order to get the room and view I wanted at the Resort I wanted. The Resort's already almost completely booked for the summer, with the exception of a few extremely expensive suites. That's just how things are - there's no "recent studies." But the Walt Disney World Company still considers the week you're going a time of lowest attendance. Have fun!

Here's a list of everything that will be closed for refurbishment while you're there...

El Rio del Tiempo at EPCOT
Teppanyaki Dining Room at EPCOT
Tomorrowland Indy Speedway at the Magic Kingdom
Fantasia Pool at Disney's All Star Movies Resort
Riverside Mill Food Court at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside
Silver Creek Springs Pool, hot tub and Kiddie Pool at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Palio at the Walt Disney World Swan
Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

If you're going in February, the crowds will be fairly low aside from around President's Day as kids get off school and a lot more people go around that time due to that. If you're avoiding President's Day, the crowds will be fairly low and you'll have a great time. Earlier this year I went in Late January/Early February and they were having a National Cheerleading Competition (which my family wasn't aware of) so it was fairly crowded, i'd call Disney before going to make sure you aren't going when that happens (if it happens there 2 years in a row, i'm not sure). All the Disney resort pools are heated to ~82º, and the weather is nice in February so you'll probably be able to go swimming during the day but it may get a bit too cold for it at night (depends on what you think cold is :P). Have fun!

You have made a good choice for a less crowded time to visit.

The weekends will still be quite busy though because this is the time that many locals and long term working Snow Birds flock to the parks knowing they are not over run by "Outsiders" so plan tha majority of your park activities during the week.

Have a great time.

Although it has been recorded in the past years as being the least croweded dates, recent studies have shown that yes in fact it is getting more and more crowded every year that passes. In fact, I tried to get reservations for that week and I did not book a reservation because they said it was going to be very crowded and there was only 1 hotel that was not booked up. If you have young children it may be crowded in fantasy land but if you have teens that like the more adventurous rides it will not be nearly as crowded!! And yes I have been during that time last year and it was a blast!! The longest time I had to wait for anything was 30 minutes even for the most popular rides! You can expect some rides closed for refurbishment because it is not that popular of a time! Hope this helps!! I would also reccomend Mission Space its a blast!

You may have a heavy crowd flow around the 14th - Valentine's Day, but otherwise, you should be fine. Disney World is typically crowd-free from late January until early May and again from late September - mid December.

Not crowded at all, as compared to the way it is during the holidays- the best time to go...

Just make sure you bring long pants, a jacket, long-sleeved shirts, and shoes other than sandals. It gets cold in Florida sometimes.

If the kids are in school, it's usually not as crowded as the summer months and around the holidays.

We went in march and it was not very crowded, we got to go right up to the reoad for the parade at magic kingdom, Its not that terrible, It was very fun, the first answer is right though, yes you are going to florida, but it does get cold! when we went on the plane to go home (on march 21st) it was warmer when we got back to minneapolis, Minnesota than it was at the orlando airport!!! best advise is to dress warm, and it shouldnt be too crowded! Bring rain ponchos!

I think it will not be very crowed in Feb. I had been in Fla in March 2 times in different years. It wasn't really crowed. Often happen in April because of spring break.
