Most community fish will be ok with tiger barbs, as long as your tank is large enough for you to have a small school of tiger barbs. They are a schooling fish, and if they don't have other tigers to hang and follow, they will chase your other fish, and tend to be fin nippers. If you have a large tank, 4-6 is good, they will stay together. If its just a ten gallon, get fish that are a little stronger on there own with them, like gouramis, larger tetras, mollies platys, swords of good size.

The main criteria for tank mates for Tiger Barbs(besides fish that like the same water chemisrty) is that they be fast and active so the Barbs won't nip their fins too much. Zebra Danios,but not the long finned type,some of the tetras,and maybe platies or swordtails with regular finnage. Hope this helps,PeeTee

Tiger barbs are very nippy fish and are best suited for a species aquarium.

I actually put a few sharks in with my tiger barbs. I also have a few green barbs, albino barbs, and plecos (the suckerfish).

no slow moving fish with long fins like tetras and guppys bc tiger barbs are fin nippers

any hardy variety can be put with tiger barbs. you can try rosey barb, serp eye terta, blue morph also.

fish that are bigger or fish that are fast swimmers. Gouramis, cichilid, and etc should be fine
