Here is the correct answer you seek. Filipinos bloodlines are 1.Chinese 2. Malaysian 3. Spanish. That is why some there look more Spanish or Chinese. Many of the Spanish that came there were from Mexico, because Mexico is closer than Spain. A Morena is a natural looking dark skinned Filipino.

Your enigmatic question is very logically valid!
The 1987 constitution of the Philippines states that "Filipino" is the official language of the country and this is still very controversial in nature.
"Filipinos" are referred to as the inhabitants of the Philippines. By grammatical rule, therefore, a single inhabitant of the Philippines is called Filipino without regard to sexual orientation. I find this very disturbing because of identity crises.
Here in the USA, when somebody meets someone in any places, like the Mall, and suspects that someone is from the Philippines the following series of questions are asked (very specific):
(1) Directed to a male recipient: Are you a Pilipino? (Note the spelling)
(2) Directed to a female recipient: Are you a Pilipina? (Note also the spelling)
(3) Where are you from the Philippines?
Answer: I am from _____________.
Example to fill in the blank:
(a) Aklan
(b) Manila
(c) Ilocos
(d) Pampanga
(e) Cebu,
(f) Etc., etc., etc.
In short, the province is mentioned.
(4) Then you speak ________?
Example to fill in the blank:
(a) Bisayan
(b) Tagalog
(c) Ilocano
(d) Pampangueno
(e) Cebuano
(f) etc., etc., etc.
The word either Filipino or Filipina should be specifically defined consistent to our Spanish heritage by using masculine and feminine names, which end in O and A, for male and female, respectively.
We communicate better here in America by using these specifics. I believe that these specifics have "loaded" your question.

Sure you are - even if you are an American citizen.

BTW, if you were born in the Philippines, and are a citizen of another country, you can now get dual citizenship.

Be proud that you're an American, be proud that you're a Filipina!

A Filipino is the male form of the word Filipina...bywhich, according to theOxford Dictionary, means a domestic help, a household attendant or a person who render domestic services.

Oh, I almost forgot!!! ... the Oxford Dictionary also said; a Filipino can also be used to refer to people who are a native of a country called Philippines.(Refer to your World Atlas for location).

I love this dictionary! Very informative!
