I don't think it's right, the govenrment already has too much power in its hands by controlling the oil company and most foreign oil companies that operate in Venezuela as well. But you also have to consider that the telephone company has only been private for the past 15 years, before that it was a public company, so it wouldn't be that much change. And remember that a public company can only benefit the Venezuelans in the short term. In the long term the results are yet unknown.

You know, I have been a die-hard conservative. But the fact that Nardelli is leaving with a $250 million dollar piggy bank from Home Depot definitely puts a dent in my belief of capitalism. I don't believe that things such as oil, telephone, and power should be left completely to capitalist machinations. We can't do without any of those. I can do without a cup of Starbucks cofee it is priced too high, but we can't live without power. Maybe without a telephone, but certainly not without energy. That's why I believe oil should be taken out of the future's market.

If the businesses do not act as a good corporate citizen, then it may be okay. In the particular case of Venezuela, the media has failed us in the US, and I myself failed to go on my own to gather more information as to under what circumstances Venezuela has come to such a decision.

No. Socialism doesn't help people, it ladens them with heavy burdens in order to take care of the irresponsible, lazy buggers who don't pay into the system. It's end is an oppressive government that sucks the lifeblood from it's people. Hugo needs to go!!

he's doing what he feels is best for his people.. after WW II America declared all of it's foreign debt null and void because it was what was best for America... how is this any different? Don't get me wrong.. I don't want America to follow suite.. I'm just saying why are we the only nation that gets to do what we think is best for the nation?
