The thing is, she does have a ton of miniskirts, however, she also goes out a lot with her friends and so the skirts, are, as she says in ROTATION. So they are not just sitting around. She has become a lot more responsible with her spending and lifestyle and so does not buy any clothes any longer...she realizes the purchases were excessive....I, however, still think she should give or sell some of these...what do you think?

Thanks for all the great answers, I forgot to add that the main reason I want her to get rid of some is that she is extremely messy and I think it would really simplify her life if she pared her wardrobe down. Thanks!

If they are paid for, there is no use in getting rid of them now. It won't help her financially. And if she is using them, and enjoying them....why not? There is nothing wrong with that, and I don't think it has anything to do with her "habit". You said she realizes her mistakes. OK. Then leave it alone.

Don't make her give them away! That's her clothes and like you said, she is wearing them. The way I look at it, you can never have too many skirts. They're great for practically all occasions. And if she's changed her ways and her life style then let her keep them. She'll regret getting rid of the clothes and probably get the urge to buy more to make up for her lost ones. Trust me, don't take away clothes from a former shopaholic! The damage has already been done anyways, now just let her enjoy them. Or look at it this way, her thousands of skirts will always be a reminder of her "excessive" buying.

haha ok well people havent really given you the nicest answers, i think you should just tell her that its OK to treat herself once in a while but she should atleast save SOME of her money! i mean comon now, 50 skirts? thats way too much. if you guys are in high school or college she should be saving her $ anyway, cuz shes gonna need a lot of it for text books and other crap....not clothes

If she's stopped buying things, and puts her things to good use then what's the problem? Getting her to give her stuff away just feels like a punishment.

Shopping is a life style! I don't think she should get rid of her clothes.
P.S. It sounds like your forcing this on her! ( NOT COOL)

There is no point if she if using them all, unless you asked her to give them to people out of the compassion of her heart to people that are in need.
