As you can see by my screen name, I enjoy jazz music, but it doesn't necessarily have to be a jazz related instrument.

Keyboard or Guitar is easiest to learn.
Good Bass players are few and far between.
Drums are a hell of a lot of fun but really tough to start as the first instrument to learn.

I would say piano. Although, I am older and still don't know how to play it. I don't think I could learn any musical instrument. Tone Deaf. (oh I sooooo second learning the drums too!)

ide say drums im 12 i have been playing since i was 5 and i know many drummers that started younger then 25 so your good with drums i say
or its whatever you want if you want to learn any strings like guitar or bass start with piano you'll have an ear for guitar and bass, you learn all the piano scales its easier to find out the guitar scales same difference good luck

as u have mentioned in ur additional details it deosn't necessary to be jazz instrument..but since u love the music. u can play well the instrument that suit the music u love...i would say saxophone...u can also play it solo with ur favorite music :)

guitar was the instrument in the 60's of choice. it is easy to take with. it does not require an amplifier and it can be played almost anyplace. go to a guitar center and ask alot of questions too!

Guitar, I mean even if you just carry it around you'll get attention from girls.A lot of girls can't resist a musician.
But it also helps if you can actually play something on it. That way if a girl asks you to play something you won't look like a pathetic poser or attention whore.

I would highly reccomend the trumpet! I play it, and it is such a joy! Very easy to learn because there are only 3 keys. Trust me, you will LOVE it!!!! I hope this helps you!
