My mate reckons that the Sex Pistols were the only ones to record(if not write!) Frigging in the Rigging.....but i`m sure someone earlier had recorded it(but can`t remember who!),i think i read it in the nme or somewhere

I thought that Ian Dury and the Blockheads did it.
Could be wrong though, it was a long time ago.

This song, under the title "Friggin' in the Riggin'", was most famously recorded by The Sex Pistols for The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle.
A version of the song, titled "Good Ship Venus", appears on the August 2006 compilation album Rogue's Gallery: Pirate Ballads, Sea Songs, and Chanteys performed by Loudon Wainwright III. His version is typically explicit and uses many of the verses common to many versions of the tune.

well if someone else recorded it its not in the book of british hit singles, only the sex pistols are mentioned
