I doubt this is a scientific fact. It sounds along the lines of phrenology and things like that. Some may do it but I would not use it as an acceptable indicator of if they are lying or not.

probably the nerves that run through our face,when we lie it touches them off or somethin of that nature,ever notice that the bigger the lie the higher on theyr face they go

it is a geste to hide their face,some people adjust their glasses for the same reason too.
