I did mine myself many times, first, prep area by washing with soap and warm water, 2nd apply alcohol to cotton swab then to ear, 3rd. put about five-six ice cube in thin handkerchief then hold it onto ears (back and front) for about 15-20 mins, ear should be really really NUMB, test numbness by pinching ears if you feel pinch it's not numb enough, keep holding ice on spot but 15-20 mins should be fine, sterilized a brand new tiny sewing (clothes needle) not the ones use on machine but by hand, also apply alcohol to needle and thread it neatly ( kill bacteria on needle by heating up really good). when ear is really hard it is ready, by the way it is better to mark spot you wish to pierce before actually ready, after take your time and insert needle while ear is still numb, you will not feel anything, after ward tie thread small knot so it will not come out then apply alcohol. (you can also insert earring instead but I prefer the thread less chance of germs) that's it. keep applying warm water and alcohol daily until heal ( you can even use Bacterin daily until heal), after which you can insert earring but do not do this before fully heal. If you think you may be ill or have any sickness or skin disorder then do not do this method, doctors sometimes do it for anywhere from $10-$20, I would prefer a doctor than jewelery stores. good luck, PLEASE THIS METHOD IS NOT FOR EVERYONE I DID THIS YEARS AGO A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT THAT'S NOT FOR EVERY ONE, IF IN DOUBT CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FIRST.
oh by the way I have no regrets!

pircing your ears hurts but if u really want to do it you will need a needle a slice of apple and ice first numb your ear then heat up the needle you will have too heat the neadle so that u can kill the bactirea on it then u will want to put a dot on each ear and make sure they are both in the same spot then when your ear is numb and the needle hot place the slice of apple behind your ear and stab the needle through your ear where the dots are and finaly you put in the earing just mke sure you clean the earing everyday you should use a cotton swab and do not take it out within the first 4 to 6 weeks

Why would you ever want to give yourself a piercing?? I don't recommend this unless you are a licensed professional. You can cause yourself a lot of pain or worse, a really bad infection. There are so many places where you can go to get your ears pierced and it's really not expensive. Please don't do it yourself. What if you wind up with some crazy uneven holes too? That would be embarrassing and then you'll really regret it. There are just too many things that can go wrong if you do it yourself.

You don't! Look honestly don't do it! It's better to get it at a piercing place or store in the mall. If you do it, the ears could get infected, they could be pierced differently with each ear and than your earrings will look lopsided! You could bled a lot more that you would if you went to someone who knows what they are doing. Good luck!

Don't pierce them by yourself, it's painful, like a million times more painful than getting the pierced by a proffesional, just go to a jewlery store and they'll pierce your ears for free with a purchase of their piercing earrings

Piercing your own ears would be absolutely horrible. You could infect your ears and they could turn out uneven and gross looking.

Go to the mall (I went to Claires) and let them do it. They're professional and Claires has free piercing anyways. You just have to pay for the earrings (which you'd have to do anyways)

It's best you don't. Better yet, go to your nearest Claire's, because they pierce your ears for free, hygienically, and all you have to pay for is the studs, which are hypo-allergenic, so your ears won't get infected. Also, the show you how to care for your newly pierced ears.

YOU SHOULD NEVER PIERCE YOUR EARS BY YOURSELF! Get it done by a professional. All of us are saying not to do it yourself because you don't want to give yourself an infection in your ear by accident because you don't really know how to do it.

Getting it done by a professional is probably less painful too. :-)

You should not do it by yourself because you need to have a special substance to clean you ears with. Go to Claires they are so good at doing them.
