Do you reasearch and not just listen to PETA because everything that PETA says about cockfighting is a lie. Just do your research and you would know the truth.

Don't use PETA, their so stupid we normal people don't recognize them as human. I grew up around 'gamecocks' and it's natural for them to fight. The added razor sharp spurs that or put on them isn't but what the hell THEIR CHICKENS for christ sake. Damn you Colonel Sanders

It's instinctive for them to fight. They are bred and encouraged to do so as well.

They are simply placed in proximity to each other, and they willfully fight at that point. So they are not necessarily forced to fight, but the would not do so if they weren't forced into each others' faces.

In response to the asker's revision:

How are two gamecocks that aren't in the same building going to fight with each other? Two entities cannot attack each other if they are not in the same local area. Unless gamecocks are now packing heat and doing drive-bys?

It's obvious that this was just a rhetorical question on your part now, and as such is not a real question. Don't ask questions if you're only looking for your opinion.

They are bred to fight, but its still a natural instinct for males to fight for domanation. This goes back to the cave man days, and with every animal its just their instincts of survival. Same goes for pit bull fights, the dogs get all worked up and when cut loose, then fight to the finish, its all primal. Of course people bring out the primal instincts even more by taunting these animals, but its survival of the fittest.

They have been bred/selected for their aggressiveness and they are forced to face/buck each other by the handlers prior to being released. Once they are released they have no alternative the fight is half way there, if those same animals were released on opposite sides of the corral they would never engage in a fight.

Yes they are bred to fight ...but they put little knives on the spurs of the leg to inflict more damage..But not near as gory as dog fights. Both are rampant in Texas.

Because it is in their nature. I had a friend in Texas that raised fighting cocks. All they had to do is get near each other. I have seen them break their restraints to jump on another cock!
