Tetris has a game released on nearly every system. It is not a matter of what happened to it, but what will happen next.

I don't know what's up with the writer. He move to the US in the 90's.
As to what happened to it - nothing - it's still on my 5-1/4" or 3-1/2" floppies.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris has quite a few links.
Some appear to allow free download of original DOS game.
Official website has nothing on it. http://www.tetris.com/
Yes, please let is know what you find...

Well, it started hanging out with a bad crowd... first it was Mortal Kombat, then it was GTA... now it just can't seem to relate to its parents and it's doing pixels and smokin' blocks... the long ones, which explains why you can never get those to fall down anymore... and if PacMan and Galaga don't give it an intervention soon, I shudder to think what will happen... I shudder...
