hello. im a 14 year old boy. i'd say for the past year, i have had a dull, mild discomfort in my right testicle, which hangs lower. yes, i know that for most people the leftie hangs lower, but oh well. anyway, there's no lumps or anything, as i performed and examination. what could it be? a varicocele is possible, however, the affected testicle is larger than the right one, and usually the affected testicle becomes smaller. what could it be? im thinking about homeopathic treatment. thanks

Before you start a homeopathic regimen, I would at least first be checked out by a urologist. You don't exactly have the expertise to do an exam and know what you're feeling. Of course, the biggest concern would be for a testicular cancer. Lumps can be deep within the testicle and may not be readily palpable by yourself. A varicocele is possible...they kind of feel like a small bag of worms on exam. You could have a hernia or a hydrocele as well.

Go see a urologist. They'll be able to tell you what you've got.

Tiredsurg gave an answer that was excellent, but I had a similar situation happen to me that may help you. I had an irregular lump on my right testicle and when I went to be examined by my Physician I'll never forget the look he gave me. It was as if I were a dead man walking. He told me that I had all indications of a testicular mass and scheduled an appointment with a specialist. ( I did have a history of cancer just not testicular.) The appointment was not for another 10 days and needless to say I was sweating it. Then I found out about a homeopathic exam that might help rule some things out, such as a mass. It's the flashlight test. Use a small flashlight that has a bright beam and in a dark room place it behind your scrotum (That's your sac for you 14 year olds) and turn it on. If it is a hydrocele you be able to see the fluid like sac or small balloon. If it is a mass, the light will not pass through and the lump will be dark. One important thing, do not use this as a substitute for seeing a doctor. Even though this may be embarrassing to you look what happened to Lance Armstrong when he caught his illness in time. Good luck and I hope all turns out O.K..

I personally think you should see a specialist, or if your desperate i would get a piece of string and wrap it around the testicle close it tight and then pray the testicle will fall off.
