Of the schools you mention, UCLA and USC focus on the film industry. If you want to make films, I recommend those schools and NYU. But if you want to act in films, UCLA and USC probably aren't your best choices. But they certainly aren't bad. If they appeal, they're worth a look.

The best acting schools in the US include a couple from your list. NYU, definately, is right up there. Some others you can consider include:

- Northwestern
- Yale
- Boston University
- Julliard
- University of Cincinnatti, College Conservatory of Music (for musical theater)
- North Carolina School of the Arts
- Carnegie Mellon
- Fordham
- University of Michigan
- SUNY Purchase
- California Institute of the Arts (CalArts)
- Rutgers University
- Indiana University
- Boston Conservatory (musical theater)

If you can get into a more reputable program, I'd avoid LA Film School.

Many of today's stars attended NYU. Look it up on the net and you'll see quite a few you recognize.

You may want to look at Emerson, too.
