Dynamic--Tom & Huck
Static--Huck's Aunt (Polly?)
Stock--(In Tom Sawyer, *** ger Jim is stock--he is round in Huck Finn)

Dynamic characters learn something or change, static characters are the same throughout the book. Stock characters are ones that are a sterotype--they aren't developed by the author because you know enough about them for the story from a short description. Round characters have been given depth and personality.

Tom Sawyer is a kid who skips school, gets into trouble, scares everyone in town into making them think he's dead. He witnesses a murder, rides on a raft, camps on an island, and gets lost in a cave, buried treasure, and you're not reading this great story? If not, you're going to end up like Tom and Huck, thinking you can cure your warts by taking a dead cat to a cemetery at midnight! Now log off the internet, pick up the book, and you will love it! It's a cool story!
