Actually my Mom used to spank me occasionally with a flyswatter (it was handiest thing around at the moment). The thing only weighed 10 ounces or so, so never really hurt me much. Made a swishing sound was about it. Of course, I never told her that.

Flyswatters are for swatting flies not kids, so use ur hand to spank them!

NO! I have threatened to use wooden spoon, etc. but so far my son has never called my bluff, whew! I have found the older he gets the easier he is to communicate with. He knows what grounded means now.
I got spanked with anything that was with in reach. I would never want to terrorize my child like that.

I did but my spanking consisted of 3 little pat no more just enough to get their attention. Any more is not a spanking. Then we would talk and I always told them I loved them!!!

no i dont. but when i was younger my grandma spanked me with a flyswatter and switches. i just laugh about it now. it didnt tramatize me or anything

Not really. I can see it, used in the right way. I mean, if you do it only once, and afterward, reaching for it gets your kid in line...yeah. Using it for all 300 spankings your kid probably ears each day...no.

You have to use a wooden spoon, an uncovered ping pong paddle, a ball less paddle ball paddle or your hand!
