Like ferns, Hostas do well in shade, like moisture and come in a great range of sizes and foliage colours and grow in almost all zones. Pulmonaria is another shade and moisture lover.

Outside of the assorted plants in the shaded garden setting--there is one incredible plant that just might revolutionize the vast areas of the world that fit these "wet feet" conditions.
The plant is the "Pensacola Bahia" A friend of mine has a pine tree farm and the trees are far enough apart to "self prune" but he plants this vigorous shade tolerant grass and is able to also run cattle in the pine orchard with symbiotically viable results.
Look for Pensacola Bahia to be a top grazing grass within 20 years.

There are several "water plant" that are marketed for water gardens that can also been grown on the ground. At your local nursery center or lowe's you should be able to find lots. One of my favorites is called "Creeping Jenny" it is a ground cover that is very hardy and shade or sun tolerant. We have it planted at the Garden Center that we own it an area which gets neglected and abused. The watering hoses get thown on it, it get walked on constantly and keeps thriving year, after year.

Heuchera are superb. The foliage is for sale in all colorings from lime yellow to purplish bronze to a mottled white/eco-friendly. It receives sprays of plant life...mine are blooming now in zone 4/5. It does large in shady parts and sunny parts, yet prefers a filtered coloration like your talking of. it truly is one among my renowned flora. Hosta may also take a lot of solar.... i'm advised the rule of thumb is the golf eco-friendly/white flora can take more effective solar than the blueish ones.. and maximum hostas are very hardy. the in consumer-friendly words one i have ever had it really is appeared style of sluggish to get going is "keep in options Me". except that I honestly have numerous kinds that advance in extremely sunny parts consisting of sum and substance.... which receives huge. Then there is golden tiara which continues to be extremely small.. so reckoning on the area you've.
