My friends and I....probably all girls...are going on holiday together and were wondering what is the best and safest city in continental Europe to do so? We did Florence last time.

Thanks! for all your opinions...my father has said I am not allowed to go to anywhere in Eastern Europe with out a parent! grrr. I have been 2 Paris, Rome and Barcelona and loved them. I also went to Portugal and hated it! Sorry every1 who suggested it! I would be travelling in April!

Well, go for Paris for sure and anywhere in Italy (Rome is a must, Venice also, Verona, Milan). You can see many castles in France, Check Republic and Hungary. Pay attention that French are not very nice with foreigners(that excludes u if you speak French). In Italy and Spain you`ll have lots of fun!

I gave thumbs up to Jacus and Dorka. Belarus really is a cool place but probably not want you want, espeically because you need to get a visa which is a hassle. Croatis is beautiful and the men are, in my opinion, the hottest in Europe. Seriously gorgeous!!
My suggestion is Krakow in Poland. It has good shops, lots of cafes for people-watching and drinking coffee. It's a very pretty city with lots to do in and around Krakow.
I say Eastern Europe. It's where the cool people go!!

i was going to suggest florence and venice before reading ur last sentence
well, as u did it, try barcelona, it's a very beautiful place, then move to madrid for shopping as u said u will be mostly girls...
in spain, and if u are travelling the summer, u can go to the costa del sol, in the south, to visit the beuatiful malaga and torremolinos, and the famous marbella...
second choice, go to Paris, it's a wonderful place, classicla sugestion, yes, but necessary if u have never been to this city before, it's really charming, in France, u can go to Nice too, it's very beautiful, marseille is good too...
if u don't like the both propositions, try Portugal, it's so quite and beautiful too, nature, kind poeple,(handsome guys too, lol)....

It depends also on the season in which you are travelling... Barcelona would be also one of my first choices, but it's very hot there for example in July - and it's for sure (like many of the south european cities) not one of the safest city in europe (these are for sure the scandinavian cities like Stockholm and Oslo, and they're beautiful as well, but really recommended only in late spring and summer).
Eastern Europe is also a good recommendation, especially in spring and summer! Krakow is in fact very nice, as is Prague and Budapest and Riga - and they're also not as expensive as other european cities. Also Berlin is wonderful in Summer and if you want nightlife it's probably the best choice - and of course it's very safe too.
