I have been laidoff on may 2004. Became very seriously ill ended up in the trauma center. Now I have clearance from the doctor to start looking for job and work. I do I explain this to the explain to the companies I will be interviewing with and what can I put on my resume? I need help on this, so please help me what to do. My credit is also messed up because of financial difficulities. Thanks in advance to everyone who are will to help me with this.

Yes, they will clearly ask about the career gap. I do not advise mentioning your medical history even (yes ...lie if asked) . Many companies are self insured and would be none to happy to add high risk individuals to the policy.
I would cite a family obligation as the reason for the lay-off (cared for children, mother, granny anything). Most employers will understand that type of situation and maybe even be impressed by your character for doing so. I dont advocate lying as a rule, but your in a catch 22. All the best!

It's good that you're finally back on your feet. Sounds like it's been a long, tough road.

The suggestion someone made of starting with temp agencies is a good one. You get your foot in the door of a lot of companies that way.

As for your resume, I wouldn't say anything about the gap. If they want to ask (and they will), they'll ask in an interview.

Register with a Temp Agency or Employment Agency. They can help you with your "out of work" layoff situation. The agency can help with your resume if they think it needs re-writing.
