Unfortunately, Ms Pelosi is a misguided Catholic who because of her influential political position on abortion may unduly direct others toward "the culture of death" instead of the "consistent ethic of life."
The Church law involved is Canon 915: Those who are excommunicated or interdicted after the imposition or declaration of the penalty and others who obstinately persist in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' statement "Catholics in Political Life" says:
Therefore, like every Catholic generation before us, we must be guided by the words of St. Paul, “Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the Body and Blood of the Lord” (1 Cor 11:27).
And continues that it is up to each Bishop in their diocese and on a case by case basis to decide whether or not to deny Holy Communion to Catholic politicians because of their public support of abortion.

You think bias = not being all over her for being a Pro-Choice Catholic? If you want to talk bias, I strongly recommend that you read Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them by Al Franken. It displays some major contradictions in conservatives that the media completely ignored. Plus it is an extremely hilarious book.
As to how she can be a pro-choice Catholic, why not? Being pro-choice is all about the government not controlling what individual women do as far as their pregnancies are concerned, it is not about encouraging it.

she would be able to't. that's that easy. over the final election, the Church made it very clean that expert-abortion/professional-selection applicants and elected officers have been of course going against Church coaching. They went even extra, indicating that Catholics can no longer vote for expert-abortion/professional-selection applicants. In doing so, somewhat some Bishop's indicated that if John Kerry got here into certainly one of their church homes, they might could desire to refuse him the Eucharist. the comparable judgements might practice to Speaker Pelosi.

She's not the only Catholic who supports abortion rights. Many panks of the Democratic party contradict the teachings of the Catholic Church and basic moral principles.
And if you are looking to members of Congress as moral guides, you'll be very disappointed.
