they can be either.
My friend (a real flesh and blood person who lives near me) got to know someone online and their friendship was real. The person my friend met came over to the UK from America and we all went out together, She and my friend have got a real friendship. However, i would say that is the exception to what normally happens. If this site is anything to go by, most people are not really themselves, but a projection of what they want people to see.

Any friendships conducted while on-line are virtual...they can't be anything else.
Friendships conducted off line...like in the real world, where you meet face to face & get to know the person....are real....you can get to know people on-line by meeting them in person, which would then turn a virtual friendship into a real one if it progressed that far.... be very careful though if you're thinking of meeting someone that you've met on-line

I have an online friend, she lives in the UK and I live in the states. I know she is a friend and not virtual. I have sent her pics of my family and she has sent me pics of hers. We talk on the phone, e-mail and instant messages all through the day. I hope to meet her some day , but if I never meet her in person she is still my friend!

virtual, they can be a lifeline for some people but in reality it is a person at the other end of the computer that most will never meet. still worthy of respect all the same.

they could be either. most of the time they're going to be virtual because generally the persons going to stretch the truth to some extent to make themselves look better, since they know that you'll never find out one way or another.

some are basically digital and some are actual. one in each of my Yahoo solutions friends and that i have communicated on a extra own element. We now deliver digital mail lower to and fro and this makes it extra of a actual pal deliver. inspite of the indisputable fact that I easily have in no way met this pal so this is not as close as a lot of my different friendships yet I nevertheless evaluate Keltesta a pal. thanks for asking. They are real if they meet you in person--otherwise you have no idea who you are talking to.
There are a lot of creepy people who pretend to be someone they are not online.

i have a friend on here shes real and i know i have never met her and one day i will i have emailed her and seen photos of her and her family she is like a best friend she might live thousands of miles away from me but i would never of gotten to of spoken to her had i not came on here

heey !! it depends on the person !! many are liers but there are many that are honest too !! i have this friend that knws evrythn abt me n i knw aloot abt him 2 !! it can be real but watch out dont say much until u feel the person is honest ?!!
