Yes. A few swats on the behind never caused permanent damage to anyone, but more than that is not necessary, imo.

But a child can be traumatized just the same even if no one ever leaves a mark them.
If you ever suspect anything report it. If their is enough going on for you to suspect something then it is probably already a lot worst then you imagine.
