Do want you feel is right. I personal wouldn't take the chance of the turning by doctor it could cause problems. I'd go with c section to be safe.
also your only 36 weeks you still have 4 more weeks for the bundle of joy to turn on it's own. Let mother nature have a chance first. Unless you know already that you have to c section early for medical reasons. If your no medical reasons for it I'd wait to see first, but it doesn't hurt to schedule the c section for your 40 week just incase.
All mine didnt turn around until last couple of weeks. about 38 & 39 week.
Remember everyone's pregnancy is different so your going by what others may have happened so like i said give the baby a chance.

Yes most traditional ob/gyn's will schedule a C-Section.
My son was breech at 37 weeks. I tried a few alternative methods as well as exercises, & having him turned. He never turned. I know that these things work for other people. I have a good friend that had her daughter turned & it worked w/o pain. I also have a few friends that their babies turned within the last week of delivery.
I personally changed Dr.'s b/c I did not want a C-Section. I found the Chief Resident of the OB/GYN Dept. (in TX) at a local hospital that specializes in High Risk Breech Births. He was the one that tried to turn my son. He only tries a few times b/c he does not want to stress the baby & yes it hurts like hell (for me)!! There are risks involved in trying to turn them. I know that there are some risks involved in Breech Deliveries as well. It also depends on they type of Breech Position your baby is in. But do not forget there are also a lot of risks involved in C-Sections as well. You have to weigh your options & do what you think is best for your baby.
I had a successful natural vaginal Breech Delivery. My son was born into a VERY controlled environment. He was 8lbs. 10oz. There must have been at least 10-15 people standing in the room incase of an emergency.
Just remember that this is your experience & you own it!!!

Personally, I'd recommend having the baby turned if he/she doesn't turn on it's own. It's still early & the baby might still move.
But turning the baby doesn't hurt and a c-section is still a major abdominal surgery - it carries risk and pain. Now most women recover from a c-section without any problem, but it's still good long recovery time just like if you had a hysterectomy, appendectomy, etc.
Why in the world would you want surgery if you didn't have to have it?

As far as i know, the doctor should schedule a C-section if that's what you really want to do. Inform him that you're really uncomfortable/nervous about trying to turn the baby and you would rather just have a c-section done. He should respect your wishes because the last thing you want to do to an expectant mother is cause any extra stress or anxiety on her. Hope that helps.. and best of luck with the baby!

My first baby was breech until I was 40 weeks. You still have several weeks for the baby to turn. I would not stress over it too much yet. If you go into labor and the baby stays breech, they will offer to turn the baby or to do a C-section. Let your body do its job and get some rest. You are going to need it.

My doctor just had me wait. Some babies will turn on their own, even in the last 2 days, so scheduling may not be needed. My daughter flipped about 37 weeks and became head down, but we had discussed the options. She said if I got to within a week of my due date and baby was not head down, we would schedule it BUT still do an ultrasound before to make sure baby had not flipped. I would ASSUME your doctor would follow roughly the same guidelines, but I could be wrong. Good Luck!!

Why don't you get the baby to turn himself? Use the breech tilt. Lie on you back with your hips at least 6" higher than your head. Do this twice a day for 20 minutes at a time. It is proven to work at least 75% of the time. I did it when my daughter was transverse. It got her to turn.

Your baby is uaually in the position they will be for birth by 37 weeks.I too would not want the doc to manually turn my baby-that really hurts I have heard!I would ask about getting a c-section-I have had one and am having another in 5 weeks. The recovery hurts-but you know the baby will be ok!

more than likely they'll schedule the c-section. they may check it again in a week or 2 to see if the baby's turned on its own... if not then they will attempt to rotate or turn the baby (which you've refused) (( understandable btw i would too)) and if unsuccessful do the c-section; it sounds like you will be a mommy here shortly. Good luck and congratulations.

They will probably try and turn it- and then schedule a c-section.
Go to the chiropractor and have an adjustment done... when you have an adjustment there is an 97% chance that the baby will turn head down once your pelvis/spine is in proper alignment!
