wash your hands first. use a mirror to help you. and ask one of your friends to be there if you have any questions. have you talked to your mum about wanting to use a tampon? she might be able to help you over the phone! and remember it's in the right position when you can't feel it. change it when you get done swimming, and remember they are a wonderful thing, but the first couple of times might be a bit hard to know if you're doing it right!

Just use a tampon, it' doesn't hurt at all and you'll be able to go swimming without worrying about it. Use a size that's appropriate for you though like juniors. Playtex tampons are the best brands. They have a smooth applicator and they expand so you won't leak. They also last for a long time.

you should dispose your tampon every 3 hours or change after you go swimming because you can get toxic shock. Also you should remember to get out of the water to check if there's any leakage or if the string is hanging out of the bathing suit! You don't want to embarrass yourself!

try to find the tampon for teens they aren't as big and are more comfortable. Also get out of the water regularly and check yourself.

Inserting is it. Just make sure you can still see the string. When you get in the water blood naturally stops flowing but be careful because some could still be left in the lips. So wash well and have fun
