The House, and that is the reason for its inception in the first place. The electoral college was created in the hopes that it would allow congress to choose our president, and not the people. Yes, our forefathers wanted that. So, they were great men, but also wanted to maintain power and control in the hands of a few.

The thought was basically, each state would likley field a candidate, no one candidate would win a majority of the votes, and then they would get to pick who they wanted. (Simple version of the explanation).

There are also theories that the electoral college allows land area to also factor into the equation of elections. If you looked at a map of the country during the 2000 elections broken down by counties, and red counties were bush, and blue counties were gore, the vast, vast majority of the map was red. The blue areas almost alway coincided with a major metropolitan area. City life and country life are very different. By basing it solely on population, the metro areas are making the laws for the majority of the country which lies in rural areas.

Who knows, I doubt it will change, as it will take an amendment to do so. I am willing to be it won't change in my lifetime.(31yo by the way)

It is supposed to be the House of Representatives. It should be the popular vote determining it in the first place, but the Supreme Court would probably elect another president.

It is the house but it should be the popular vote. There is no longer any need for the electoral college and we should abolish it.

particular. If he basically served one time period as president. A 2 time period president received't run for vice chairman by ability of reality he would favor to regulate into president in an on the spot and that would nicely be unlawful. I doubt any president might want to settle on for to regulate into vice chairman besides. Bush (I) and Carter would favor to run for president or vice chairman, yet Clinton, George W. Bush, and Obama would nicely be prohibited by way of utilising the variety.
