here are two stories:

1.) last week in spanish class a kid farted, so naturally the whole class burst out laughing. the teacher, for some odd reason, only punishes two students, one of which is me.

2.) today in spanish class, this kid started acting like a retard, and a few kids laughed (i was one.) she gave him a detention, which is understandable, then turns around and gives me one because i was "looking at him and laughing." no one else got one besides the funny kid and me.

would you give a student a detention in these situations? explain. i go to school in the US and my teacher lived in Croatia (sp?) for the majority of her life, if this helps at all. i am in junior high.

Thank You

uhhh i know she is such a b****!! ~!@#$%^&* little annoying stylish lady. lol, with her high black boots, and high skirts, and short hair with tiny devil horns comming out of her head, i swear they are there! lol. i think she is really unfair, especially incident numero uno, where the whole class was laugthing, it's unfair to only punish two people when everyone was guilty for the same thing, i say of she gives you another detention for laugthing you should tell the office!!
I LOVE YOU BABY :]

Guilty by association I say. That has happened not to me, but to people I know many times. Eventually, they learn to grow up a little bit and never do it again. Every once in a while is acceptable, and if the teacher is in a very good mood, then by all means, crack off a couple jokes, get her smiling. If not, watch out!

It gets better in high school, because the teachers realize that most of us are growing up and maturing, so they can joke around a lot more without losing complete authority and control over the class. It gets better, so be prepared!

It sounds like it's time for the parent(s) to become involved. Generally a teacher knows who is likely to instigate something. I'm sorry that you may be thought of as an instigator in your teacher's mind. There are a few options.
1. Meet with the teacher yourself and ask why you received detention when others did not. Don't say that it wasn't fair, but listen to the explanation.
2. Ask the teacher if you can sit at the front of the class where you will be less likely to see and laugh at others' antics.
3. Ask your parents to meet with you and the teacher to see why you recieved detention.

You're one of the reasons many leave teaching after only a few years. The other reason is the parents who think this kind of behavior should be permissible in the classroom or that it's never their son or daughter who would be capable of such a thing. I sincerely do hope that you will grow up and see the light before your high school days are behind you and you haven't learned much of anything except how to be disruptive and "cute" in order to get the attention that you are so needy for at the expense of other students who are earnest about their studies.

Well in Croatia teachers are really strict and they take teaching very seriously. Well duh who wouldn't laugh if some kid farted its not like everyone was pointing and him and making fun of him. It's obvious that she doesn't really like you and that shouldn't be a reason to give you detention. Just lay low for a while and don't do anything that would make her give you detention again.

The teacher put you also in detention because it shows the kid thats being retarded or farted a chance to do it more when he hears someone else llaughs at it. It gives this incouragement to do it more when a kid laughs at what he does. Thats why the teacher also put you in trouble.

Your teacher's actions are understandable, although she made a mistake in allowing you to feel picked on.

When you laugh outloud, you are joining your classmate in poor behavior. It disrupts the class and wastes learning time.

I have and will continue to speak with students who disrupt class. I do it for my own sanity and out of respect for students who are willing to learn.

Speak with your teaching and explain why you think it's unfair. She'll likely give you the same reasons I gave you.

My best advice is to control yourself and don't let that kid bring you down with him.

Best of Luck.

That's so stupid! The teacher is sick!
Well u know what, I went to school in Croatia and most of my teachers were strict and they put u in detention if u laugh. They r so stupid. Of course no one will like school if the teachers aren't good.
