I thought that I had my last period on October 5, but now Im thinking that it was September 5 and that im really 4 months not 3 months. Im going to the doctor tomorrow and I wanted to know how he can check to see for sure how far along I am. I had an ultrasound and he said that it looked like I was about 8 1/2 weeks but that was last month, but im thinking im farther along! Im scheduled to have a c-section because I had one with my first so I want to be certain!

You can have periods throughout your entire pregnancy so that is NO way to tell. The most effective and accurate way is ultrasound or amniocentesis. As you progress, the doc will be able to tell you better-every ultrasound will be more accurate. Wishful thinking on the due date maybe? That would be totally understandable. Hang in there!

Pretty sure that ultrasound is really the only way to definately find out how far you are. They will monitor the growth and figure it out that way. Good Luck.

Once you have your follow up ultrasound your doctor should be able to tell you how far along you are. You'll be ok, stop worrying. Worrying makes you look old and gives you wrinkles, is that the first thing you want your kid to see when it comes out.

Ultrasounds are pretty accurate. Good luck. You will do fine.

i'm sure you'll have more ultrasounds as your pregnancy progresses, won't the dr. be able to tell how big your baby is later on?

When you go to your Dr.s appointment, ask the doctor, tell him of your concern. He'll explain how they calculate it and will tell you which date should be correct.
