my mother in law has a 1964 double headed 50 cent piece how much is it worth

Double headed coins are man-made and not a product of the mint therefore you will probably not see them in any price listing reference. I have seen a good one sell for close to $20.00. It is a novelty that the right person might want.

Go to the local coin shops or even better a local coin show. You might find someone willing to buy it from you.

BD in NM is right. It is a novelty item and not a mint issue. The only coin to get the green light from the mint as being a genuine 2 headed coin, is an Indian cent and I do not remember it's date.

probably 50 cents, take it to a coin dealer and he will b able to tell u.
