These kind of questions that attempt to lump all liberals into one group are ridiculous. We no more think all alike then do the conservatives. This type of post has only one purpose, and that is to promote dissent. I'm liberal and my feelings are that if the U.S. fails in Iraq, then it is the failure of all of "us".

Because a defeat in Iraq equals more democrats being elected in 2008, especially on regards to the white house. If GWB pulls out a victory the libs can kiss goodbye any hope for the presidency as well as possibly losing control of the Senate. Plus the left just hates Bush and would root against him in a game of Risk.

Iraq has become a religious war!! They are fighting to see which one of the Muslim sect will take over power!! Religious wars last forever!!! How much tax dollars are you willing to continue investing in a war that's not even christian!!!!! How long are you willing to continue this war??? Are you willing to let your child, grandchildren and great-grand children fight in this war??? IF their is an honest to goodness solution for religious war don't religious wars would have been a thing of the past?
It's not the we are vested in having the war fail it's that we don't want to spend the next several generations fighting for a war that's UN American!! (separation of church and state).

Because they don't believe that global terror is a real threat despite their daily complaints about bombings from jihadists in Iraq (via Syria and Iran).
Libs fail to understand one thing: if America leaves Iraq, we will have betrayed Iraq twice in 16 years. There WILL be a certain bloodbath. America will look weak militarily to the world, terrorism WILL increase, and our way of life (and that of other Western nations) will be even MORE threatened.

if we succeeded it would then mean that all of the conspiracy theory websites, and the extremists in this country were wrong and we just can't tolerate that. we believe that to know what a country that consists of 20 million thinks of us we should ask 1,100 how they feel and then put it in a formula and dang that must be how a majority of a country feels- sounds silly doesn't it

because overall they do see no point in going to war in Iraq. It was all a conspiracy. Sometimes the government causes destruction to go to war. What scares me is that the government wanted to fight in the USA. But said they wanted to go to war in Iraq. Essentially there are not a lot of souls in the Western Hemisphere. Because i went back and saw there is not a lot of people holding on living in their country. Because they essentially are not afraid or worried about an attack. There is less populace.

Because they are hoping that a lib democrat gets elected in 2008--and then all you'll hear from the media is how frickin' awesome the war is going if one is elected.

You have it backwards. It's the conservatives that have invested in the failure currently occurring in Iraq.

Are they VESTED or just know that its bound to fail since NO ONE knows why it came about.
IT HAS FAILED and trying to keep it one Iraq will fail too. Why can't we accept we started something that we have to look at differently to finish. 3 Iraqs, no US interest in the oil, and still a Muslim country.
