No there isn't a way to make your internet speed dramatically faster unless you pay for a higher service.

You can try tweaks with your network settings but it won't have a huge impact. Contact SBC Yahoo! DSL and see what other "premium" services are available.

Clean up the clutter in your system so that you have fewer running process that ping your conection.

Exactly what those may be depends on your system and software.

The speed of your downloads doesn't ust depend on YOUR connection. The server you are downloading from or through also contributes to decreases in speed. The type of conection (IP REQUEST) is a factor too.

So, you may have a blazing fast DSL conect on your end, but if the other end is turtle slow due to traffic, then your stuck.

it really is-in spite of the undeniable fact that it also relies upon on the laptop that you've. once you've an up hence far, more moderen laptop, then sure, it really is. once you've an older style, it isn't as quickly, yet that couldn't because of DSL, it really is because of the laptop.

Switch to cable.
Web accelerators really don't help with a broadband connection; but the people who sell them won't admit that because it would cost them money.
