There are a lot of symptoms. Some women get constipated or get diarrhea. Feeling over tired, mood swings, swollen or tender breasts. I get lower back pain, headaches, horrible cramps to where you just want to curl up in a ball and cry. I've thrown up twice and have known girls that throwing up from their period is a regular thing. But no worries there are lots of medications to help. Even if your not sexually active taking birth control definitely takes period symptoms almost completely away. Midol, Ibuprofen and Pamprin helps too.

Everyone is usually different, but yes all are true. Also some people get cramps in there back or stomach not a pain it is kinda different. There are so many different symptoms. I used to get a pain in my side and a pimple on my cheek when I was younger. As I got older I started to get lower back pain and Diarrhea and also the symptoms you have when you are young don't always stay with you. There are some people who don't get any symptoms at all it just comes. Just pay attention to your body and when you feel or notice something different ask your mom or you doctor they can usually tell. My daughter got her period when she was 10. Usually a girl will get her period close to the age that her mom got her's.

O'kay, to start with everyone, is different. When I was younger not to make you parinoid or anything, but I never got cramps, bloating, headaches, nothing. It just showed up, unanounced. It be like I would go to the bathroom and hello what do I have here, nice frigen mess. If you feel as you might possible be getting it soon. My suggestion would be to start wearing a thin pad just for protection and embarrassment. I still today at the age of 43 still don't know when I'm going to get it, mine doesn't exactly follow a schedule. Check out web sites that tell you the truth about what to expect and not to expect. Ask your Mom, Step-Mom, Grandmother.

everyone gets different symptoms i get cramps and back pain. just about everyone gets moody lol, but it can affect different people in different ways, my sister gets vomiting and all that but my friend never gets any symptoms other then the moodyness. so you shouldnt worry to much. one of the things i hate the most is the fact that every emotion affects you like it is a billion times worse. thankfully i have a partner who understands so he treds lightly around this time. so yea everything upsets you a whole lot more and when your over it you look back and wonder why you got upset about it. he he so cheer up girly you'll be fine there is no point stressin about it till you find out what your symptoms are if you are worried about getting your period carry some pads in your bag. if you dont want to buy some ask you mum, sister or a friend.

some women get headaches, called "menstrual migraines>"others do get diarrhea and various mild aches and pains, caused by a chemical called "prostoglandin" secerted by the body at this time.there are treatments for menstrual migraines and for cramps and diarrhea,so its nothing to stress about.not all people get these symptoms anyway, some women do,some dont.and the ones who do,can work with their dr and find a treatment that works.throwing up doesnt seem to be a typical symptom, unless u have very bad migraines, which can cause nausea-and again,u can be helped if u get this.sounds like ur friends may be trying to scare u !as i've said, some people have these symptoms, others dont,u may very well experience only typical mild cramping.the cramps with the first few periods tend to be the worst,so the first few times u get it,dont think its how it always will be.tylenol or advil will help.as u get older, cramps get less and less,by ur mid-30's(sounds so long from now, doesnt it?)u may have no cramps at all.its a natural experience, all women have it,so try not to worry!u are lucky-years ago, there werent many effective, safe treatments for any symptoms u may have, now, there are,so dont worry, just have fun growing up,every life stage has its positive side, not just negatives !!!!!

I know I'm a guy but my girlfriend is right here and can help you. Everyone is different but cramping is a key symptom. Periods can very from a few days to a week long and if it ever loger than a week you should talk to a doctor. For the best bet you should go to your doctor and talk with them about it or if you do not have a doctor try the local health clinic. Good luck.

2-3 days before I first start my period I have diarrhea. No vomiting though. Lower back pain, headache, and just feel kind of tired and uncomfortable. So some of that is true for me, but each person is different in how there body reacts to that time of the month.. Good Luck and God Bless

Yes, you often get diahhrea just before your period because of all the fluctuating hormones... it's not fun, but it's nothing to worry about. I haven't heard of the throwing up part, but this might just be a side affect from the upset stomach you can sometimes get, especially if it's something you're not yet used to. Good luck!

Every women is different. I got mine when I was 12 too. I got it real bad. I would get the stomache aches and throw up too. I also get horrible migrains. As I get older though, it seems to have gotten better. Like I said not all women get severe cramps like I do. Some of my friends don't even get cramps, it depends on you and the way your body operates. About 90% of the women in my family get severe cramps and most of my cousins are on medication for their cramps. I would suggest you speak with the women in your family, mom, aunt, cousins etc and see how theirs are. Good Luck and congrats on almost becoming a women. ;)

You could experience these symptoms from your period, especially if you get severe cramps, but I'd think that these symptoms would occur during your period, not before. Sometimes the pain from cramps makes one naseous. Could be you're getting sick, though (a cold, maybe?).
